What is an Operating System?

Decades ago we used to execute programs with punch cards running one program at a time which is quite slow when compared to recent times. Later on, they became faster and faster........Basically, we should make computers operate on their own to make the execution speed up and make it available to the whole world to solve the issues that worry them a lot. Here comes the role of operating systems and we are so comfortable today solving the difficult tasks within a short span of time. That's the reason for the invention of operating systems. Thanks to the ancestors to present a great sword to the future generations.

Cool. Let's dive into the operating systems! Hang on with (@umanstreak) to have a clear view of Operating Systems. Let's Go

Operating System:- The technical definition goes in this way:- An operating system is an interface or a medium between the user and the hardware. Definition:- An operating system is system software that acts as an interface between the user and the hardware and controls the execution of all kinds of programs

Let us discuss why we need an operating system? Basically, it is very difficult to interact with hardware to execute every program as it is too complex as it is difficult to handle physically. So we use OS as a medium as it is not an efficient way of handling hardware.

Goals of operating systems

  1. User Friendly:- The user should find it easy to interact with the OS.

2.Efficiency:- It should be more efficient
